From January 2004 I worked for ICCF , the International Correspondence Chess Federation. The ICCF is the biggest correspondence chess federation with more than 30.000 players world wide. ICCF has a history of more than 50 years of organizing correspondence chess, including the world championship.
Traditionally, correspondence chess is played via postcard, and more recently via email. I worked as lead architect and developer, creating a server as a new medium to play correspondence chess, automating many of the processes for players, tournament organizers and directors. The server was launched in July 2004.
The project was developed using ASP.NET, C#, Web services, SQL Server 2000, Windows Server 2003, IIS 6, HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
